Format: 50ug, 500 ug,
Origin: It is produced by transient expression in non-transgenic plants and purified by sequential chromatography steps. This product contains no animal–derived components or impurities.
Description: Insulin-like growth factor I (also known as somatomedin C and somatomedin A) and insulin-like growth factor II (multiplication stimulating activity or MSA) belong to the family of insulin-like growth factors that are structurally homologous to proinsulin. Mature IGF-I and IGF-II share approximately 70% sequence identity. Both IGF-I and IGF-II are expressed in many tissues and cell types and may have autocrine, paracrine and endocrine functions. Mature IGF-I and IGF-II are highly conserved (100% identity between human, bovine and porcine proteins) and exhibit cross species activity. IGF-II is a potent mitogenic growth factor. However, unlike IGF-I which has important postnatal roles, the growth-promoting function of IGF-II is limited to embryonic development. In adults, involved in glucose metabolism in adipose tissue, skeletal muscle and liver. Acts as a ligand for integrin which is required for IGF2 signaling. Positively regulates myogenic transcription factor MYOD1 function by facilitating the recruitment of transcriptional coactivators, thereby controlling muscle terminal differentiation.
Species: Porcine/Bovine
Purity: > 95% by SDS-PAGE gel
Endotoxin: < 0.05 EU / μg protein (LAL method)
Formulation: Lyophilized from a Tris HCl buffer , NaCl and Urea, at pH 7.4. Sterile filtered through 0.2 µm filter.
Reconstitution: Lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in water following instructions of Certificate of Analysis (CoA). At higher concentrations solubility may be reduced and multimers generated. Optimal concentration should be determined for specific application and /or assay
Storage and Stability: The lyophilized product is stable between 2-8ºC. Once reconstituted, use immediately or store in aliquots at -20ºC (maximum shelf life 3 months). Avoid thawing and freezing.
